YippieYo Crossbuggy

I fell in love with the YippieYo Crossbuggy as soon as I saw it for the first time. I just knew I had to have one and I was incredibly lucky to have one sent for the purpose of this review. It's an amazing opportunity and I'm truly thankful.

The YippieYo Crossbuggy is a pull along trailer for one or two children. It's really an off road version of standard trailers and it can go places where you wouldn't take a pushchair. It feels at home in a field, woodland, beach and mountains.

When the Crossbuggy arrived I was a little scared of the size of the box and whether it needed a complicated assembly but I shouldn't have worried. The wheels are very easy to attach as long as the disc brakes are aligned correctly. The seat needs clipping open and the handle securing and you're ready to go.

The YippieYo Crossbuggy has 2 seats both with 5 point harnesses with buckle in the style of that found in car seats. That makes the YippieYo Crossbuggy very comfortable and safe for the young passengers. The seats are wide enough for 2 children. My eldest is close to 5 and he has plenty of room next to his 1.5 year old sister. The harnesses are very easy to adjust to suit the children. My 2 little ones found it incredibly fun to be so close to each other when in the Crossbuggy.

The pull along handle has a handbrake and parking brake so you can use it safely. The 14 inch puncture proof wheels glide along and make pulling the Crossbuggy super easy. They go over all obstacles without effort. The YippieYo Crossbuggy is very solid. It feels robust and well made. The fabrics, frame, wheels, disc brakes and the handle all feel like they're made from best available materials and you can just feel and see the quality of it. It will last years and years without problems. At first I thought it would be off balance when pulling the Crossbuggy with just one child on board but there's no difference in how sturdy and balanced it is whether it's empty or has one or two children in it. The low centre of gravity prevents it from tipping sideways even on a slope. The rear luggage rack serves as an anti tipping device as well. The disc brakes offer great control on slopes and uneven terrains.

The YippieYo Crossbuggy has been incredibly easy to pull along with our youngest passenger. It requires no effort at all even when going up a hill. With 2 children on board I found I needed to use some strength and I did struggle a little on slopes but this is me being a weakling haha. Both children enjoy being in the YippieYo Crossbuggy and want to go in it all the time so it must be comfortable and I think it's just fun for them!

The YippieYo Crossbuggy is suitable from 12 months of age but the child needs to be able to sit unaided before they can use the Crossbuggy. There's no max age for the users but there is a weight limit of 35 kg for the children and 5 kg for the luggage.

You can purchase additional LED lights to go on the YippieYo Crossbuggy to make it more visible after dark.

The YippieYo Crossbuggy comes with the luggage rack and bungee cord to secure bags and you can buy the matching bag that clips onto the back of seat. I highly recommend the YippieYo bag as it's fantastic quality, durable and a great size for a day trip. There's pockets inside and cup holders on outside. It comes with a shoulder strap so you don't have to change bags when going out and just use this one for all purposes.

The YippieYo Crossbuggy can be folded for storage and transport. This is done very easily by unclipping the seat and folding the handle down. The wheels (with disc brakes) are quick release to make the Crossbuggy more compact. I was surprised by how well the Crossbuggy fits in our saloon boot, it leaves plenty of room for other luggage. It's not to heavy to lift either which is great for me! I think size wise it's similar to an all terrain double pushchair if not smaller. The YippieYo Crossbuggy is 75 cm wide so it can fit in doorways and gates without problems.

My overall impression of the YippieYo Crossbuggy is very positive. I was expecting a great piece of equipment and it's just that! It works well, the children are comfortable and both love going in it for a ride. The quality is top notch. It's a fantastic all terrain option for toddlers and young children. It's not a 'baby' pushchair so some children may and probably will enjoy it more than pushchairs. I can also imagine the Crossbuggy being a good option for special needs children who may not need a supportive special needs pushchair but simply a place to rest. If you're an active, outdoor family then you really need to consider the YippieYo Crossbuggy. I think it's a perfect alternative to off road pushchairs and back carriers. If you love holidays in centre parks, camping etc. then look no further!

If you go onto you can configure your very own Crossbuggy in a range of colours for both fabrics and frame, you can then add accessories and order a YippieYo Crossbuggy for your family.

Alice wouldn't let us assemble the Crossbuggy as she was so keen to try it out!

Wheels can be removed for a more compact fold.

A huge thank you to YippieYo for sending us the Crossbuggy for the purpose of this review!
