Nuna Ivvi - review

Nuna Ivvi has a very distinct look to it. With the curved handlebar, large wheels, parent and world facing seat and extendable canopy it seems to tick all the boxes. It's simple to use with everything clicking into place nicely. The seat is very well padded and has a tall seat back and very good adjustable leg rest. The Ivvi is suitable from birth up to 17kg. My son who was 4 at the time and 16kg wouldn't fit under the canopy anymore so I guess the higher weight limit is for those chunkier toddlers :)

What is the Nuna Ivvi like to use on a daily basis?
I was rather disappointed with how much the shape of the handlebar hurt my wrist when pushing the Ivvi one handed. I do not recommend ever pushing in one handed if you have a choice. If you can use both hands to push it then it's absolutely fine although I'd rather see a cover for the plastic handlebar as it's not the most comfortable to hold for longer periods of time. The wheels go over obstacles easily but there's no suspension to speak of and it gets a bit bumpy when off the pavement. The rear wheels are set quite wide at 65cm so you might struggle in small spaces. Turning circle is also wide. There's a lot of movement in the frame where the folding mechanism is and you can feel it when pushing the Ivvi particularly when turning it. The handlebar adjusts to different heights and is one of the tallest when extended fully. The seat can be parent or world facing and is very easy to change around. The seat liner is very padded and seems comfortable. There is a fantastic way to adjust the height of the harness from the back of the seat. Because the seat reclines completely flat the Ivvi suffers the same problem as many others where the harness shortens as you recline the seat. In the end the harness digs into your child very hard and it really needs adjusting every time you lay the seat down and put it back up. I really liked the fact the seat sat at the right height for the Ivvi to be used as a high chair, it's a real bonus in my opinion! The canopy is large when extended but because of it's relatively high position it doesn't offer much protection when the seat is reclined. The leg rest is adjustable which is great for smaller children. The shopping basket is a decent size and can be divided to 2 equal pockets so that things don't get squashed. The fold is easy to do and you can leave the seat on the frame when it's world facing but the Ivvi is very large and very heavy when folded. It weighs a massive 16.5kg! There's no automatic or manual lock it keep it folded. If you're in and out of a car then this might not be the one for you unless you feel you need a workout instead of a trip to the gym.

Nuna Ivvi can be used with the amazing carrycot or you can use a car seat to turn it into a travel system.
